A Wisconsin woman has been sentenced to life in prison, with the possibility of parole, for the conviction of killing her friend with an overdose of eye drops.
Jessy Kurczewski, 40, from Franklin, was found guilty of murder in November for the poisoning of Lynn Hernan, 62, from Pewaukee, in October 2018. She was found guilty of two counts of felony theft.
Prosecutors presented evidence suggesting that Kurczewski committed the crime in order to evade detection for embezzling almost $300,000 from the hairdresser.
Kurczewski was sentenced to the maximum of five years on each of the theft charges, as reported by The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. With a series of consecutive sentences and a minimum of 30 years on the murder conviction, Kurczewski’s chances of release are effectively eliminated for at least 40 years.
