Greta Gerwig & Noah Baumbach Have Gotten Married After 12 Years Of Dating

Greta Gerwig and Noah Baumbach have tied the knot, according to a representative for the Barbie director. The couple, who have been together for a long time, are now officially married.

A source told PEOPLE, the couple tied the knot at New York City Hall.

The couple’s paths crossed during the production of the 2010 film Greenberg, sparking a romantic connection that blossomed in 2011.

The news arrives following a bustling year for the couple, who collaborated on the Barbie screenplay and revealed the arrival of their second son in a low-key interview with Elle UK, published in July.

A new member has joined the couple’s family, their first baby together, son Harold Ralph Gerwig Baumbach, who was born in March 2019. In a December interview with Vogue, Baumbach, 54, shared his enthusiasm for collaborating with his current spouse.

“I think the pleasure of writing for us is that it seeps into everything. I’d show her a cut of my movie, and then a few months later, I’m watching her movie. I don’t want to sound sickeningly happy, but it’s a truly great thing to watch someone you love make something and love the thing they make. I don’t know how else to say it without saying great a lot,” he told the outlet.

In 2020, they were both nominated for Oscars in the same year. Baumbach received nominations for Best Picture and Best Original Screenplay for his film Marriage Story, while Gerwig was recognized for her work as the director and writer of Little Women, earning a nomination for Best Adapted Screenplay.
