Mayor Eric Adams faces allegations of sexual assault in a lawsuit filed on Wednesday evening in a New York court, according to information obtained by The Messenger.
The unnamed plaintiff, who is referred to as such by The Messenger to protect her identity given the nature of the accusation, submitted a legal document known as a summons on Wednesday evening at the state Supreme Court in Manhattan.
The summons was filed under the Adult Survivors Act and identifies the defendant as the Democratic representative from New York City. The lawsuit also includes the transit bureau of the New York Police Department and the Guardian Association of the NYPD as defendants.
