An incident occurred in North Carolina where a pastor reportedly attempted to deep fry a cook at McDonald’s due to an alleged incident involving his wife. Dwayne Waden has been taken into custody on assault charges after reportedly assaulting an employee at the High Point establishment, where his wife holds a managerial position.
As per the police report obtained by the Mirror UK, Waden’s wife, Latoya Gladney, 44, had a conversation with her husband regarding the lack of respect she faced from her staff. The husband reportedly arrived at the McDonald’s to confront Theodore Garlington, one of the individuals believed to be involved. According to reports, Waden is said to have repeatedly assaulted the cook and even made a disturbing attempt to force his face into the deep fryer while gripping his neck. Nevertheless, additional employees intervened to put an end to Waden’s actions. The police document provided a thorough account of the events as described by witnesses.
“The listed witnesses advised that the offender came into the McDonalds on S Main Street, walked around the counter and placed his hands around the neck of the victim, pushing his head toward the deep fryer,” as explained by the report. “The offender also punched the offender several times on the face and did not stop until several employees pulled the offender off of the victim.”
Choosing not to use an ambulance, the 34-year-old McDonald’s employee opted for a ride to the hospital from family members. A video captured him with a noticeable contusion on his forehead and right eye, as well as scratches on his neck.
Nevertheless, the specific circumstances surrounding the disrespect towards Gladney, which led to the reported assault, were still uncertain.
Waden was later apprehended by the local police on a misdemeanor charge of assault, following their review of the security footage capturing the incident. The 57-year-old gentleman is a pastor at Elevated Life International Ministries in Thomasville, North Carolina, and he also holds a job as a semi-truck driver. The bond amount was set at $1,000, and the trial is scheduled for Jan. 22.
