A traffic stop in Person County on Sunday night resulted in the confiscation of approximately 255 pounds of drugs, marking it as one of the most significant seizures in the county’s records, according to the sheriff’s office.
In a news release issued on Tuesday, it was reported that a deputy was conducting patrol in the vicinity of Oxford Road when they observed a vehicle driving at a slow pace, causing obstruction to the flow of traffic. He also observed that the driver was not staying within their lane.
As a result, the deputy decided to pull over the vehicle.
“Upon further investigation, narcotics were found in the vehicle and the driver was arrested,” the release said.
The drugs confiscated by the sheriff’s office weighed approximately 255 pounds. According to the release, the street value of the seized items exceeded $1.1 million.
The Person County Sheriff’s Office announced that the recent bust was one of their most significant operations to date.
