11-Year-Old Boy Stabbed To Death In Chicago While Trying To Protect His Pregnant Mom From Her Ex-Boyfriend Who Had Just Been Released From Jail

Crosetti Brand, 37, has been charged with first-degree murder in connection with the death of Jayden Perkins.

Brand was granted parole after serving a 16-year sentence for a home invasion.

Last October, he was released on parole and placed on electronic monitoring. However, he was sent back to custody after he made threats towards Smith and showed up at her home.

“During his parole, he made threats to the female victim through text messages and even went to her house.” “He was sent back to prison in February for this parole violation,” Chief of Detectives Antoinette Ursitti explained.

Brand appeared at Smith’s home the very next day, resulting in the tragic murder of Jayden Perkins.

Brand’s behavior towards Smith has been consistently hurtful since their breakup in September 2006. He menacingly brandished a firearm and discharged it in the hallway.

Jayden Perkins was tragically stabbed in the chest while bravely defending his mother. His mother, Laterria Smith, is currently in critical condition while being 33 weeks pregnant.
