A singer from Van Nuys and her fitness influencer friend are facing serious legal consequences, as they are expected to plead guilty to charges of trafficking over 200 pounds of cocaine through Alabama. If convicted, they could potentially face a life sentence in federal prison.
Racquelle Dolores Anteola, 34, of Van Nuys and Melissa Dufour, 36, of Miramar, Florida, were apprehended in June while traveling on Interstate 10 in Mobile County, Alabama, as reported by local newspaper Lagniappe.
Anteola, also known as Rahky, and Dufour, the creator of Sexy Sweats clothing brand, were traveling in a Ford Expedition with Texas dealer plates from Houston to Atlanta when they were stopped by the Mobile County Sheriff’s Office.
Lagniappe reports that the SUV they were traveling in had a back seat and was modified with a steel aftermarket compartment. The floor of the SUV has been expertly modified and reinforced to maximize storage space. The second compartment was situated at the rear of the SUV, where the side panels had been hollowed out.
Prosecutors have charged the individuals involved after discovering over 200 pounds of cocaine concealed within hidden compartments.
During the court hearing on Tuesday, the attorneys representing the women informed the judge of their intention to plead guilty to the charges in the upcoming week.
According to Lagniappe, Anteola and Dufour could potentially face severe consequences if found guilty, including a prison sentence ranging from 10 years to life and fines of up to $10 million.
According to the indictment, the women have been involved in drug trafficking since at least November 2022.
