Ohio Woman Who Threw Chipotle Burrito Bowl At Employee Sentences To Work In Fast Food For 2 Months

A lady from Ohio, who was convicted of throwing a burrito bowl at a Chipotle employee, got her prison sentence reduced after agreeing to fulfill her sentencing arrangement by working at a fast-food restaurant.

Rosemary Hayne, aged 39, was convicted last week of assault for forcefully throwing her food at Emily Russell, who was working at the counter when Hayne initiated her vulgar and recorded attack.

“Is this your reaction because your burrito bowl wasn’t prepared according to your preferences?” According to Fox 8, Parma Municipal Court Judge Timothy Gilligan made this statement during the sentencing.

Hayne told the court and Russell that she was sorry for her actions — before going on to say that the food she was given looked “disgusting.”

“If I showed you how my food looked and how my food looked a week later from that same restaurant, it’s disgusting looking,” Hayne said.

Hearing proceedings for Hayne included playing footage shot during the tumultuous attack in September, which had previously gone viral on the internet.

During her nearly minute-long rant at Russell, Hayne slams her order down on the counter, as seen in the video. The customer is having a tantrum, and as other customers watch, Russell, who is behind the counter, tries to soothe her.

Then, as the guests gasp, Hayne tosses the burrito bowl at Russell’s face from only a few feet away.

The judge said, “I bet you won’t be happy with the food you are going to get in the jail.”

Hayne was given a 180-day jail term by Gilligan, with half of that time suspended. The judge then extended an uncommon offer in an attempt to “teach her a sense of empathy.”

Gilligan told Hayne he would give her 60 days’ jail credit if she agreed to work at least 20-hour weeks at a fast-food restaurant for two months.

“So I thought, why should the city taxpayers pay for her and feed her for 90 days in the jail if I can teach her a sense of empathy?” Gilligan said. “I also hope this deters others from this type of behavior.”
