Chick-fil-A made an announcement regarding a forthcoming change to its renowned chicken.
Starting this spring, the Atlanta-based fast-food chain has announced a shift in their antibiotic policy. They will be transitioning from a No Antibiotics Ever (NAE) approach to a No Antibiotics Important to Human Medicine (NAIHM) approach. The reason behind this change is to ensure a consistent supply of high-quality chicken that customers have come to expect.
Customers who have the Chick-fil-A app received a notification from the restaurant informing them about an exciting new update. According to Chick-fil-A’s website, NAE chicken refers to animals that were raised without the use of antibiotics.
However, they explain that NAIHM “restricts the use of those antibiotics that are important to human medicine and commonly used to treat people, and allows use of animal antibiotics only if the animal and those around it were to become sick.”
This change comes shortly after Chick-fil-A had to recall Polynesian sauce dipping cups last month that were in stock from Feb. 14 to Feb. 27 due to allergy concerns.
