Georgia Inmate Willie James Pye Is Set To Be Executed Tonight For 1993 Murder After Parole Board Denied His Clemency

A man from Georgia who was found guilty of committing robbery, kidnapping, and ultimately murdering his former girlfriend in 1993, with the assistance of another individual and a 15-year-old, has been denied clemency. They also took turns assaulting her during the crime.

Pye’s attorneys claimed that Willie James Pye, who is now 59 years old, possesses an intellectual disability. Unfortunately, the Georgia Parole Board rejected his plea for clemency. Tonight at 7 pm marks the first execution in the state since 2020, where he is scheduled to be executed.

He requested two chicken sandwiches, two cheeseburgers, french fries, two bags of plain potato chips, and two lemon-lime sodas for his final meal.
